BLAKESLEE VILLAGE COUNCIL: Sidewalks Looking At Repair / Maintenance & New American Flags On The Way

The Blakeslee Village Council met on May 1, 2024 at 6 p.m. Present were councilors Robert Mohre, Rosemary Alexander Thiel, Cletus Radabaugh, Shelly Cox, Linda Muehlfeld, and Virgil Green alongside Mayor Eric Jenkins, Fiscal Officer Courtny Osborn, and Police Chief Randy Mohre.

After approving the minutes of their April meeting and the monthly financial statements, which totaled in with $2,410.66 in receipts and $1,966.97 in payments, it was shared that two garbage bills have yet to be paid off.

Councilor Muehlfeld shared that the alley behind Thiel’s does not seem to need repairs at this time, with conversation being had with the county’s Todd Roth on chip and seal for some of the alleys.

Muehlfeld shared that May 6th will see State Route 34 begin to be inspected, as the road is set to be replaced in 2027.

The Blakeslee Village sign is being repainted, with the services being donated. New American flags are being purchased for the village as well.


Mayor Jenkins shared that there are 18 spots where the sidewalks could use maintenance, and has been working on getting a sign grant -with word expected sometime in May.

Councilor Muehlfeld shared that the house on South Washington Street has been purchased, and is currently being renovated for resale.

The Blakeslee Village Council then voted to adjourn, set to meet next on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 6 p.m.
