SELECTED FOR BAND … Molly tried out for the National FFA Band back in July. She completed a video of her playing for submission.

Evergreen FFA member Molly Elvey has been selected to be a part of the 2024 National FFA Band. Molly will play at the National FFA Convention in late October where she will play her French Horn and Mellophone.

Molly started the application process at the beginning of July. The application process is very competitive and requires the applicants to play a scale and song of their choice to submit for evaluation along with a written application with her background of being a part of the band.

Molly was selected in early 2024 to be a part of the Ohio FFA State Band where she was acknowledged by the state band director that she was a great talent.

The state band director encouraged Molly to pursue the National FFA Band program. Molly has been a part of the Evergreen band program since 2020 when she entered the sixth grade. When she entered the band program, she was a trumpet player.

In 2023, Molly made the switch to the French Horn and Mellophone in preparations for the high school band. She taught herself how to play both of these instruments.

Molly has had amazing achievements in the Evergreen band program as she is only a sophomore. As a freshman, Molly was selected for the OMEA District 1 Band in northwest Ohio.

She has also received the invitation to be a part of the Honors Band Program for northwest Ohio. Molly participated in the district solo ensemble contest this past year.

She received the highest score on her solo at the district contest. Molly is looking forward to this next opportunity to play with a National Band Program.
