Bryan Police Chief Visits Rotary Club

(PRESS RELEASE / THE VILLAGE REPORTER)
DEPARTMENT UPDATE … Bryan Chief of Police Greg Ruskey spoke to the Bryan Rotary Club. There are eighteen full time, two school resource, one part-time and reserve and auxiliary officers in the Bryan Police Department. Ruskey emphasized that the department has a very good working relationship with the city council and the public schools. Residency requirements have been lifted since COVID. After officers have graduated from the academy and continue working in Bryan for three years, they can receive tuition reimbursement. Fourteen Flock cameras are positioned in the city to record, traffic in and out of the city and there are fourteen body cameras used by t(he officers. Two dogs are in the canine unit and Ebikes are used by officers to get to locations quicker. In the future, an officer will receive special education in computer forensics.
