(1973 Graduate Of Delta High School)

Ronald L. Nagel, age 69, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep, Monday morning, November 4, 2024. He was born January 20, 1955 in Defiance, Ohio to Lorenz Nagel and Betty J. (Parker) Nagel.

After graduating from Delta High School in 1973, Ronnie initially moved to Florida, where he worked in a ski shop.

His journey eventually led him back to Ohio, where he pursued a successful career in printing. He began working for Mustang Newspaper, which later transitioned to NTA Graphics in Toledo, where he continued to serve for 24 years until his retirement in 2010. Throughout his career, Ronnie was known for his work ethic and the dedication he brought to his job.

In retirement, he found a meaningful way to give back to the community by volunteering daily at the Fulton County Humane Society. His commitment was evident as he arrived early to clean kennels and feed the animals, demonstrating a compassion for those in need.

He was a loving caretaker, adopting two dogs during his time at the shelter. Ronnie even owned a racing horse named Navajo. He and his good friend, Keith Lantz, shared the excitement of owning Navajo, enjoying many days out at Raceway Park.

Ronnie was also an avid sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about NASCAR. He dedicated his Sundays to watching races and often engaged in friendly bets with his siblings. His enthusiasm for the sport even led him to share season tickets with friends, Rick and Nancy Lantz.

Ronnie also loved to travel. He made countless memories on trips to Australia, Hawaii, Holland, Michigan, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, each journey adding richness to his life experiences.

When he wasn’t traveling he enjoyed spending time at the Delta Eagles where he was a lifetime member. He also loved trying his luck by playing the lottery.

Although Ronnie never married or had children of his own, he took great pride in treating his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He delighted in taking them fishing and was their biggest cheerleader, always present to support them during sporting events.

Ronnie is survived by his siblings, Marilyn (Gene) Waugh, Carolyn Jane Nagel, Donna (Bill) Rice, Bob (Peg) Nagel, and Judy (Lennie) Thourot, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Lorenz Nagel; brother, Larry Nagel; and nephews, Joseph Knapp and Brad Nagel.

Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery will be private for the family. A memorial luncheon will be held Wednesday, November 13th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Delta Eagles.

The family would like to thank Judy and Lennie for the wonderful care they gave to Ronnie over the past several years.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society. Arrangements by Grisier~Weigel Funeral Home ~ Delta (419.822.3121).
