The Bryan downtown square buzzed with the excitement of families pouring in to welcome the jolly old elf to Bryan.

Warming fires were ablaze and hot chocolate was steaming as the bundled-up crowd lined the streets around the square. The fire engine sirens announced the parade was here.

The Bryan school band led the line of lights around the square. Several local businesses, churches, schools, and other community groups participated with many creative takes on the Christmas theme, Santa relaxing on the beach, lighted nativity with a real-life waving Joseph, an entire lighted school bus from Bryan schools, Mr. Dum Dum Pop, and even an appearance from the mean one Mr. Grinch.

The crowd cheered when the courthouse Christmas lights were lit, adding to the Christmas atmosphere as a few snowflakes slowly started to fall.

Children gathered candy canes as the parade passed by. Even a few four-legged friends featured in the parade.

Finally, Mr. Claus himself appeared with Mrs. Claus, this time being pulled by horses instead of reindeer with an entourage of elves in tow.

After the parade, Santa made his way to his cottage, greeting and hugging several children along the way. A line of kids was already forming, anxious to tell Santa their Christmas wishes.
