Robert Lee Miller, age 89, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in Hospice care.
Robert was born on October 5, 1935 in Archbold, Ohio to Martin and Carrie Miller. At 19 years old, Robert married Mary Kathryn Holsopple, who survives.
Robert worked for Sauder Woodworking for 45 years. He enjoyed bowling and horseshoes, participating in tournaments and winning many trophies to show for it.
Later in life, Robert took up shuffleboard while wintering in sunny Florida. He enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. Many memories were made with eight children traveling and spending summers camping together at a private campground for over 40 years. Robert was a member of Living Word Christian Church in Ohio and attended Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida.
Surviving Robert is his wife, and 8 children: Arlene (David) Cooper of Defiance, Anita (Mitch) Cooper of Bryan, Annette (Lee) Beucler of Stryker, Pamela (Kevin) Cooley of Bryan, Christine (Gerald) Schoenhals of Dayton, Virginia, Beth Jones of Bryan, Brent Miller of Archbold, Jason (Stacie) Miller of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, and siblings Doris Eberly, Pueblo, CO, Jerry Miller, Leslie, MI, Linda Howard, Jackson, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Miller and sister Annabelle Carlin; one grandchild, Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Andre.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 29 from 12:00 – 3:00pm at the Short Funeral Home, Archbold. Memorial Service is Monday, December 30 at 11:00am at Lick Creek Church of the Brethren in Bryan, Ohio, with Bill Holsopple officiating. Internment for immediate family will be prior to the Memorial service, at the Pettisville Cemetery.
