Roy Allen Mettler (71) passed away Dec. 24, 2024 at home, with his loving wife at his side after a COVID related illness. He was under the care of VITAS hospice care.
Roy was born on Feb. 11, 1953. He graduated from Montpelier High School and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Pine Castle Masonic Loge. He worked for N & W Railroad, Bethlehem Steel and Universal Studios, where he was a maintenance mechanic for over 20 years.
His interests included flying, skydiving, scuba diving, Taekwondo, stained glass and motorcycles.
Roy is the son of the late Richard Mettler and the late Eileen Bordner Mettler Brandt. He was preceded in death by his brother Carl Mettle; sister, Beverly Norris; and twin grandsons Allen and Adam White.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa; her husband, Tony; and grandchildren Aaron and Elizabeth White. He is also survived by his wife, Christine Mettler and sister Cheryl Garrett.
Memorial Services will be held at Pine Castle Masonic Lodge at Noon on Sunday.
