PETTISVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION: Board Approves Archery Team For 2024-2025 Season

January 25, 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

In the early morning of Thursday, January 23, the Pettisville Board of Education met for a special board meeting to approve its Archery team for the 2024-2025 season.

According to the agenda, the archery team “will bear the ‘Pettisville’ name, practice at Fayette Local Schools, and compete in tournaments as ‘Pettisville.’

The agenda also stated, “The future of archery at Pettisville will be evaluated after the 2024-2025 season.”
Superintendent Josh Clark explained, “They had been shooting with Fayette and there were some rule changes so we had the board approve our own team so those kids could continue to shoot.”

According to Clark, there are 6-8 students on the team. The establishment of the new Pettisville team will allow them to participate in the remaining tournaments during the 2024-2025 school year.

Leo Wixom Sr., Madeleine Wolfe, and Craig Wolfe were appointed by the board to serve as volunteer coaches for the archery team.

Taking care of an additional personnel matter while convening, the board also appointed Lynn Roth to serve as the sound and light supervisor for its theater productions.

The next regular Pettisville School Board meeting will be held on Monday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the school’s main conference room.
