The Village of Edgerton hosted 10 aspiring pageant queens Saturday evening at Life Changing Church to compete for the crown of Little Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Edgerton.
The Miss Edgerton Pageant took place on June 7th, 2025 beginning at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening to the public at 5:30.
Girls who chose to participate this year ranged from first grade to seniors, and had a variety of different talents, styles, and community involvement to bring to the table to compete in their age division. Those who were able to join had to be a citizen of Edgerton or attend Edgerton Local Schools.
The annual pageant features a schedule full of different events throughout the evening, starting with the welcome message, presentation of the contestants, introductions of judges and contestants, community concentrations (for the Miss and Teen Miss), talent portion (for the Miss), and a brief intermission.
After the break, the pageant resumed with the formal wear presentations, question and answer portion (for the Junior Miss and Little Miss), the 2024 Queens farewell, and finally the awards presentation.
During the presentation of contestants, the audience and judges had a chance to meet the contestants individually. In the Little Miss age division, competing was Everleigh Dargitz.
Everleigh is the daughter of Holly Owsley and Orion Dargitz. She is a first-grade student who hopes to be an artist, singer, and geography teacher when she grows up.
In the Junior Miss age division, competing was Alexis Barton, Madalyn Keppeler, Paige Hobeck, and Harper Nowak. Alexis is the daughter of Karrie LaLonde and Dustin Barton. She is a third-grade student who hopes to be a teacher when she gets older.
Madalyn is the daughter of Adam and Jessica Keppeler. She is a fifth-grade student at Edgerton and wishes to obtain a teaching degree and cosmetology license in the future.
Paige is the daughter of Aeriel and Cody Weidner, and Steven Hobeck. She is a fourth-grade student that wants to become a babysitter.
Harper is the daughter of Kyle Nowak and Destiny Hill. She is also a fourth-grade student and wishes to become a second-grade teacher or art teacher after she graduates.
In the Teen Miss age division, competing was Abigail Krill, Layla Lawrence, and Loretta Roberts.
Abigail is the daughter of Matthew and Alicia Krill. She is in the seventh grade and hopes to become a teacher, interior designer, or entrepreneur in the future.
Layla is the daughter of Kyle and Tiffany Cereghin. She is a sixth-grade student that would like to be an elementary teacher or help with special needs children.
Loretta is the daughter of Cody and Ashley Kirtley, and Chase and Alaina Roberts. She is in the sixth grade and her future goal is to become a babysitter.
Competing for Miss Edgerton was Felicity Thiel and Hope Hamblin. Felicity is the daughter of Dean and Lisa Thiel and is a freshman. Her plan after high school is to become a pediatric psychiatrist.
Hope is the daughter of Zach and Jill Hamblin. She is a senior and her future goal is to work with behavior and therapy training with dogs.
Although the pageant only takes place in one night, there were several other behind-the-scenes activities the queen candidates were evaluated on, such as interviews and community involvement.
Miss contestants also had to rehearse a talent they wished to share with the judges and audiences to be considered in their final scores.
After the conclusion of each of the different portions, the judges turned in their scores and final scores were totaled at the end. Then, the awards were presented to each of the winners.
Each of the contestants received a goody bag and participation trophy for all of the efforts in the competition this year.
The first award was the Queen of Queens, given to a returning queen who won their age division in last year’s pageant who proved to demonstrate the most community service hours. This was awarded to the 2024 Junior Miss Edgerton, Leighton Showalter.
In the Little Miss age group, Everleigh Dargitz was crowned Little Miss Edgerton and received a bundle of awards from local sponsors and the pageant director.
In the Junior Miss age group, Harper Nowak won the award for Best Interview and Miss Congeniality. Paige Hobeck took home the award for Miss Photogenic.
Junior Miss Edgerton Runner Up was awarded to Alexis Barton, while the winner of Junior Miss Edgerton was given to Harper Nowak, who was also awarded prizes from local sponsors and the pageant director.
In the next age group, the Teen Miss division, the award for Best Interview and Miss Congeniality was given to Abigail Krill. Miss Photogenic was awarded to Layla Lawrence. Layla then came back again to win Teen Miss Edgerton Second Runner Up.
The award for Teen Miss Edgerton First Runner Up was given to Loretta Roberts. Finally, Abigail Krill was crowned as Teen Miss Edgerton, receiving several prizes from local sponsors and the pageant director.
In the last age division, the award for Best Interview and Miss Photogenic was taken home by Felicity Thiel. The Miss Congeniality award was given to Hope Hamblin.
When it came to best talent, Felicity Thiel was given the award for her cake-decorating skills during the talent portion that took place live earlier this evening.
Miss Edgerton Runner Up was awarded to Hope Hamblin, and the 2025 Miss Edgerton was crowned Felicity Thiel.
The People’s Choice Award was also distributed, which left the audience members in charge of the winner.
Audience members could place money in jars during the pageant for who they wanted to receive this award. The contestant who had the most money by the end of the evening was given the award.
The money earned from this voting was used to support the local scholarship fund. The People’s Choice Award winner was Loretta Roberts.
The winner that sold the most 50/50 tickets was Harper Nowak. She was also given a bonus prize.
This year’s queens will go on to compete for the title of Little Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Miss, and Miss Williams County in January of 2026.
In the meantime, they will continue to carry out their volunteer work and community involvement, help out with local events, and return next year to hand over their title to the 2026 Edgerton Queens.
