The Blakeslee Village Council met in a regular session on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, at the village hall.
Council members present were Nick Reed, Shelly Cox, Robert Mohre and Brad Dahl. Virgil Green and Linda Muehlfeld were absent. Mayor Eric Jenkins and Fiscal Officer Courtny Osborn were present.
Discussion regarding a village resident with unlicensed vehicles dominated the meeting.
It was discussed that attorneys have been contacted, and the village (police and the mayor) will keep contacting the resident involved.
Osborn will get prices and information for an attorney and prosecutor on how to proceed with it. Council approved a payment of $871.56 to Jeff Birky for the street signs in the village, and Jenkins will be contacting Birky to proceed.
Jenkins is still working with County Engineer Todd Roth regarding the village’s alleys. In other action, Dahl had contacted a mechanic to repair a generator and an electrician for the backup system for the village’s emergency siren.
If things cannot be updated with the backup system, then Alert 86 will be used throughout the village. Council agreed to have it checked out.
Council reminded attendees of the upcoming Blakeslee Knights of Columbus fish fry to be held in conjunction with Edon Days on Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.
Osborn reported the receipts for July totaled $2,278.29 with expenditures totaling $5,247.94. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. Next meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at 6 p.m.
