The community of Edgerton gathered together this past weekend on Saturday, July 19, 2025 to hold their annual Homecoming Festival, celebrating the history and spirit of the small town they all love.
Although rain had to make an appearance, citizens didn’t let it stop the fun, moving activities indoors and wrapping up outdoor activities before the rain started.
The schedule for the day was filled with fun festivities for all ages to enjoy. First on the list was the parade, with members of Edgerton businesses or those in the surrounding area lining up a vehicle, tractor, golf cart, or on foot, to participate. The kids attending the parade brought their best candy-grabbing bags and were ready for the fun!
The parade lasted about 40 minutes and was spoken highly of by many. Many agreed that Edgerton had a wonderful parade featuring several unique floats and signs to promote their business or cause.
Some notable members of the parade included the Edgerton High School Marching Band, playing the fight song loud and proud, with the cheerleading squad to back them up.
Along with them was the Edgerton Future Farmers of America float, with the high school’s FFA members throwing candy to the fans, bright red fire trucks, shiny police cars, giant tractors and construction vehicles, Mayor Bob Day and Founder Alfred P. Edgerton on a decked-out golf cart, beautiful pageant queens, and more!
After the excitement of the parade, the crowd headed out to Miller Park for a bundle of fun activities. Miller Park hosted a co-ed softball tournament on the ball diamonds, food trucks and vendors for those working up an appetite, a craft show with many products made right here in Edgerton, the Dream Haven Car Show for auto enthusiasts to enjoy, and “Touch a Truck” for the kids.
For the history buffs, the Edgerton History Museum was also open during the afternoon, holding old yearbooks, artifacts, and unique antiques that have been recovered and saved for decades.
Later in the day, there was also a euchre tournament held out at the Edgerton Church of Christ for anyone wishing to test their luck. The convenient location near Miller Park made it easy for citizens to walk right on over if they chose to participate.
Finally, in the evening, for anyone still wishing to take part in the fun, REkT held a concert in the Old Gym at Village Hall, playing rock music and keeping the party going. Despite the rain, some community members still showed up to enjoy the town’s homecoming celebration.
Overall, there were tons of fun activities to choose from right in the community’s hometown. The annual tradition of homecoming was once again a success for Edgerton.
