CROSS COUNTRY DISTRICTS: Area Teams & Individuals Punch Their Ticket To Regionals

NAPOLEON (October 18, 2025) – Fayette and Pettisville both advanced their respective boys and girls cross country teams to the Tiffin Regional following district competition at Leaders Farms.


In the boys’ race, Tinora claimed the district title with 36 points followed by Holgate (92), Liberty Center (134), Hicksville (149), Pettisville (158), Maumee Valley (178), Fayette (195), Toledo Christian (208) and Fairview (212). All nine of those teams qualified for the Tiffin Regional on Saturday.

Rounding out the team standings were Antwerp (212), Ayersville (244), Woodmore (248), Edgerton (299) and Evergreen (390).

Mason Like of Liberty Center was the individual district champion with a time of 15:57.


Alex Galvin led Pettisville with a fifth place overall finish in 16:59. Tyler Wilburn was 22nd (17:53), Kyle Galvin was 25th (17:59), Samuel Hartman was 57th (19:18), Ryan Bishop was 60th (19:27) and Joe VanDenBerghe was 85th (20:44).

Ethan Lee paced Fayette with a third place overall time of 16:34.37. Koewin Burkhard was 33rd (18:22), Mason Leininger was 36th (18:35), Dawson Schang was 45th (18:48) and Will Maginn was 101st (22:59).

The top eight boys teams and the top 16 individuals not on a qualifying team from the Tiffin Regional will advance to the state meet on Saturday, November 1 at Obetz, Ohio.

Liberty Center dominated the girls’ division as the Lady Tigers had all of their five runners placed among the top ten finishers and tallied 23 points to win the title.


Other teams advancing to the Tiffin Regional were Antwerp (125), Northwood (147), Hicksville (154), Fayette (164), Woodmore (167), Tinora (167), Fairview (212), Holgate (221) and Pettisville (233).

Rounding out the team standings were Edgerton (249), Ayersville (273), Montpelier (279) and Edon (316). Mia Amador of Patrick Henry was the individual district champion with a time of 18:56.21.

Addison Schang led Fayette with a sixth place overall finish in 20:18.26. Kennedy Kunkle was 24th (22:04), Kayla Sliwinski was 39th (23:23), Shelby Phillips was 54th (24:47), Monroe Simon was 67th (25:50) and Ally Kessler was 68th (25:59).

Keren Maldonado led Pettisville with a 21st place time of 21:56. Grace Davis was 30th (22:36), Leah Roth was 55th (24:49), Sophia Loar was 77th (27:18) and Emma Haley was 88th (29:34).

The top nine girls teams and those 18 individuals not on a qualifying team from the Tiffin Regional will advance to the state meet on Saturday, November 1 at Obetz, Ohio.

Meanwhile in Division III at Columbus Grove, it was an all-underclassmen effort for the Bryan Golden Bears after easily winning the Division III boys district cross country meet in dominating fashion.

Led by freshman John Deitemeyer who claimed the individual crown with a time of 16:37.4, the Golden Bears tallied 23 points for the championship.

Deitemeyer was joined by a pair of sophomores, Josiah Cummins who placed third (17:01), and Colton Sheline who was fourth overall (17:02). Juniors Malaki Neilson was seventh (17:14) and Khristopher Alspaugh was eighth (17:22). Cael Neilson was 10th (17:42) and Nye Bradbee was 13th (17:56).

Also advancing to Saturday’s regional meet at Tiffin in the team race were Van Wert (73), Archbold (93), Paulding (127), Ottawa-Glandorf (145) and Wauseon (180). Rounding out the team standings were Delta (193), Coldwater (218), Bluffton (219), Napoleon (239) and Lima Bath (265).

Connor Plassman led the Bluestreaks with a 12th place finish in 17:46.7, Jude Hudson was 16th (18:18.6), Trevor Osterland was 17th (18:22), Xavier Gericke was 23rd (18:40.7), Amarion Moreno was 25th (18:46.1), Bo King was 28th (18:54), and Zach Krueger was 38th (19:12).

Clay Wasnich led Wauseon with a fifth place time of 17:09.6., Wyatt Medina was 39th (19:24.6), Carter St. John was 41st (19:31.8), Alejandro Aranjo was 42nd (19:33.7), Tristan Pena was 59th (20:29), Nicolas Hernandez was 60th (20:36.4) and Josiah Acevedo was 75th (25:28).

In the girls meet, Napoleon edged out Ottawa-Glandorf, 59-61, to claim the district title. Archbold was third (82), Van Wert was fourth (107), Lima Bath was fifth (108), and Bryan was sixth (158). All of those teams qualified for the Tiffin regional on Saturday.

Gwen Huddle of Napoleon was the individual champion with a time of 18:34 just edging out runner-up Ella Rhoades of Wauseon who qualified individually with a time of 18:41.6.

Hadley Hudson led Archbold with a seventh place time of 19:50.4, Natalie Schmucker was tenth (20:53.6), Janae Murillo was 16th (21:17.9), Cagnee Grime was 23rd (21:51.9), Blaney Huffman was 26th (22:00) and Madison Bowers was 30th (22:18).

Nicolette Stickney finished third overall with a time of 18:50.9 to lead the Lady Bears. Claire Thormeier was 27th (22:08), Lila Brock was 40th (23:57.6), Lily Pittman was 43rd (24:34), Addison Grant was 45th (24:49), Adelyn Hake was 62nd (28:00) and Kassi McDade was 64th (29:52).

The top four teams and those eight individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the state meet to be held Saturday, November 1 at Obetz, Ohio.
