The Edon Village Council held its regular meeting on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Duane Thiel led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by roll call.

Council members present were Dave Loughborough, Dan Ankney, Aimee Bell, Lee Lawrence, Brian Shaffer, and Jeff Pease.

Also in attendance were Police Chief Tom Szymczak, Village Administrator Chad Ordway, and several community members. Fiscal Officer Heidi Bidwell was absent.

The meeting opened with the reading and approval of the minutes from the previous session, followed by a review of the financial report and approval of bills for payment.

During the communications portion, council members received the monthly police report, which included updates regarding the property on Church Street.

No new updates were reported from the Safety, Park, Cemetery, Finance, or Zoning committees.

The council next heard the Village Administrator and Public Works report, covering ongoing village operations, maintenance projects, and the renewal of village health insurance.

Under old business, the council held the second reading of Ordinance 02-26, which repeals the existing Chapter 901 and enacts a revised codified ordinance governing sidewalks within the village. The motion was made by Lawrence and seconded by Ankney.

In new business, the council discussed Resolution 03-26, authorizing an agreement with consultants for the village’s Downtown Revitalization Project.

Officials also considered a memorandum of understanding with the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority related to the project. The motion was made by Loughborough and seconded by Lawrence.

The meeting adjourned at 6:53 p.m. The next Edon Village Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
