(Devoted Family Man, Firefighter, & Friend)
Michael Walter Rosene, age 84, of Delta, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday evening, March 30, 2026, at The Grove at Oakleaf Village in the comforting presence of his family.
Michael was born on May 24, 1941, in Holland, Ohio to Elwood A. and Margaret A. (Sherman) Rosene. On May 20, 1967, he married Joyce Vogelbacher.
Michael’s professional career was distinguished by his 30 years of service at Chrysler Corporation, where he retired in 1991 as a supervisor in shipping and receiving.
His leadership extended beyond the workplace; he honorably served as a Captain in the Springfield Township No. 2 Volunteer Fire Department, a station he helped his father build from the ground up.
An active and enthusiastic participant in 4-H for many years, Michael generously dedicated his time as an advisor, nurturing the growth and development of young people in his community.
His many interests and hobbies included saltwater fishing, raising and showing Angus cattle at the Fulton County Fair, camping with family, and golfing with his Chrysler buddies—pastimes that enriched his life and created lasting memories.
A proud supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Duke Blue Devils, Michael’s spirited enthusiasm for his favorite teams was well-known among friends and family.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce; their children Michael II (Kara) Rosene, James (Julie) Rosene, Julie (Matt) Rychener, and Chris Rosene; devoted grandchildren Jessica (Kevin) Lassiter, Amy (Connor) Shipman, Willa Rosene, Laurna Rosene, and Carter Rychener; and great-grandchildren Sadie, Wyatt, and Wade Lassiter. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sandra Rosene, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellwood and Margaret Rosene, and his brother, Ronald “RJ” Rosene.
A private graveside service to honor Michael’s life will be held at Zion Cemetery.
