Wauseon Divers competed at another Division 2 State Diving Tournament at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, OH on February 24th.

Junior, Patience Bachman represented the Wauseon Lady Divers for the third year in a row. She competed ina strong diving field and placed 16th, receiving All-Ohio Honors for her accomplishment.

Tony Schweinhagen became the first Wauseon Male diver to compete at the State Meet coming off of a strong District meet finish. Tony competed with the strong competition but fell just short of advancing to the semi0final rounds.

“I am very proud of Patience and Tony, coach Tom Burkholder said. “They worked very hard this season to get to where they are and already have plans for new dives and other things htye can do to improve their div e lists to make sure they return to Canton next year. It has been a lot of fun watching these two continue to get better. This was Patience’s third trip to the state meet and she was much more calm; becoming the top finisher from our area,” Burkholder concluded.

The Wauseon High School divers plan on getting back to the board as soon as possible to compete for their club diving team in meets and tournaments around the state this summer.
