John W. StarkJohn W. Stark, 72 years, of Bryan, peacefully passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. John was born August 13, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, son of the late Linus “Buck” and Nieta (Lugwig) Stark. He was the co-owner, along with his brother, Larry, of Stark’s Construction, where he worked for 50 years until his retirement in 2007. With the Stark family owning Bryan Motor Speedway, John grew up in the racing business, and often worked as the waterman for the race track. John was an avid NASCAR fan, but he thoroughly enjoyed going to the area coffee shops, discussing the current events and visiting with his friends. John also enjoyed remodeling family homes and cherished the time he spent with his family.

Surviving are his two children, Amie M. (Denton) Krontz III of Bryan, Ohio and Jamie J. Stark of Waldorf, Maryland; two grandchildren, Shelbie Krontz of Columbus, Ohio and Jonda Krontz of Bryan; one brother, Larry (Jeannie) Stark of Bryan, Ohio; two sisters, Carolyn Harrington of Bryan and Sharon Stark also of Bryan. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and his longtime girlfriend, Carolyn Haley.

Visitation for John W. Stark will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where scripture services will be held at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday evening. Funeral services for John W. Stark will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 610 Portland Street, Bryan, with Father Jim Halleron officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakeslee.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Community Health Professionals Home Health and Hospice, 127 Blakeslee Avenue, Bryan, Ohio 43506.
