Pork Quality Assurance Plus Program Planned For April 14

April 6, 2016Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments1 Min Read

The OSU Extension Williams County office will be hosting the Pork Quality Assurance Plus Certification Session for pork producers at office inside the Williams County Community Office building at 1425 E. High St, Bryan. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016.

Pork Quality Assurance Plus was built as a continuous improvement program, helping producers maintain food safety traditions. Thus helping to ensure that U.S. pork products continue to be recognized, domestically and internationally as the highest quality and safest available. PQA also provides information to ensure producers can measure, track and continuously improve animal well-being.

With PQA Plus, pork producers have another tool to demonstrate that they are socially responsible. This is important as consumers show greater interest in the attributes of the products they purchase for food, and their interest in the well-being of the animals being raised.

To register for the meeting call 419-636-5608 or email Florian Chirra, OSU Extension Educator Agriculture at chirra.1@osu.edu by April 8, 2016.
