Montpelier Women Of The Moose Welcome Deb Clum As Speaker

HPIM1841 WEBDeb Clum, center, American Cancer Society “Relay For Life” Adult Survivor of the Year for Williams County, served as speaker for Montpelier Chapter 270, Women of the Moose Community Service chapter night Thursday, June 2nd. She shared personal experiences as a three-time breast cancer survivor and why the “Relay For Life” program is so important—to continue the quest to cure cancer, raise awareness about detection, diagnosis and treatments, celebrate the survivors and honor the memory of those who bravely fought the disease. She is pictured receiving a $50.00 donation from the Women of the Moose Community Service Committee Chairman Joyce Schelling, left, and Chapter Senior Regent Cindy Pierce, right. The Williams County “Relay for Life” is scheduled Friday and Saturday, June 17 & 18 at the Williams County Fairgrounds in Montpelier starting at 6:00 p.m. with the opening ceremony. Various activities will continue through the evening and night into Saturday morning with closing ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. Scheduled are Survivors’ Lap & Caregivers’ Lap at 6 p.m. Friday, Luminaria ceremony at 10 p.m. Friday, silent auction and other fund-raising functions throughout the night. The public is invited to attend and show support for the cause through participation in walking and other activities.
