The Four County ADAMhs Board thanked voters for their overwhelming support of the seven-tenths mill renewal levy that was on the ballot on Tuesday during its monthly meeting on Thursday (Nov. 10).

The issue, which will generate just over $1.7 million a year for the next five years, was approved by Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams county voters by a nearly two to one margin (44,960 to 22,710).

The board elected new officers to replace chairman Michael Chadwick, who has resigned from the board, and vice-chairman Jim Watkins, who will be resigning from the board at the end of the year to accept a college teaching position.

Dan Koch of Napoleon was elected board chairman with Cindy Rose of Archbold selected to be the vice-chairman.

The vacancy created by Chadwick’s resignation will be filled by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services while Watkins’ vacancy will be filled by the Williams County commissioners.

Several contracts were approved by the board, including:

•$11,000 for Secure Telehealth to continue to provide secure, encrypted video conferencing and telemedicine sessions for agencies with board contracts. McCaslin explained that the system has been working well for several years and helps get clients into treatment faster.

•$7,500 for each of the Defiance, Henry and Williams county sheriff departments to help fund their D.A.R.E. programs.

•$2,000 for each of the Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams county family and children first councils for administration.
