Quadco Rehabilitation Center Receives High Satisfaction Rating

November 28, 2016Updated:December 11, 2016No Comments3 Mins Read

Stryker – Overwhelmingly satisfied, that is the feedback received from Satisfaction Surveys completed by individuals served at Quadco Rehabilitation Center (QRC). QRC Executive Director, Bruce Abell, shared the surveys with the Center’s Board Members at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Annually, individuals receiving services are asked to complete a survey and provide feeback pertaining to their programmatic choices. Abell told the Board Members, “This year, we are doing more with community clubs and community integration, and the positive response to that focus is reflected in the Satisfaction Surveys.” Abell added that, “We strive to provide services in a respectful and caring way. We have a culture of people working at QRC that care about the individuals receiving services and that is a very important goal to me.”

Abell also shared with the Board Members the results of a 2014 and 2015 National Core Indicators Report published by the Human Research Institute of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The report lists the results of random interviews with individuals with disabilities across the state of Ohio. The interviewers asked participants a variety of questions ranging from, Do you have a job in the community and do you like your job?, to questions about opportunities for attending entertainment events and opportunities to participate in spiritual services. Abell told the Board Members that surveyors for the Human Research Institute have visited QRC to interview program participants, and their input is part of the data listed in the report. Abell pointed out to the Board Members that nine out of 10 people who have a paid job in the community said that they like where they work.

The Board Members also reviewed the results of the Board’s Annual Self Evaluation, a tool utilized to assess the effectiveness of the Board. After reviewing the evaluation feedback, Abell recommended that the organization utilize webinars to increase Board Member development activities.

In addition to discussing Community Club trips into the community, Shannon Zellers, QRC Program Manager, showed Board Members some of the fall craft activities that individuals have been making. Participants have been working on football pillow sewing projects and fall wreaths. Zellers also shared pictures of the QRC’s Halloween costume party and dance.

QRC’s NWES Employment Services Manager, Rachel Lange, told the Board Members that Northwest Employment Services is currently serving 45 individuals in job placement services. Lange shared with the members that some of the employment opportunities recently obtained are: child care, dietary aide, and auto detailing.

In other business the Board approved the 2017 Annual Budget.

The next regular meeting of the Non-Profit Board will be January 24, 2017, in the Stryker facility conference room.
