The Camp Palmer staff and board are very thankful to Midwest Energy Cooperative for free installation of 16 telephone poles that will form the base of the new course! We would like to recognize Paulding/Putnam Electrical Operation Round up Grant for a recent donation of $2000 toward this project. Also, we would like to thank the Williams County Pork Producers for a $2500 donation toward our new pool that has reduced our pool loan to $64,000.
This new pole high ropes course built in poles will replace 4-H Camp Palmer’s original high ropes course built in trees in 1990. Youth will be challenged to participant and experience up to 15 physical elements located 25 feet in the air including a zip wire. A unique feature of the new course will be a central spiral stairway access. This project will cost about $25,000.
4-H Camp Palmer is the largest 4-H youth camp in northwest Ohio serving 11 counties, 2000 youth in summer resident camps and another 4,100 in outdoor education school programs, retreats, specialty camp and leadership/team work workshops through-out the year.
If you or your group would like to donate to this project, please call 419-237-2247 or email 4hcamppalmer@gmail.com. 4-H Camp Palmer is a non-profit 501c3 organization.
