Family Fun night will be held on February 24th at 7 o’clock. Not only will Trolls be shown, but popcorn and candy will also be provided. Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, and anything else that makes you comfortable while watching the movie. Call the library at 419-237-2115 or stop by the children’s circulation desk to sign up for Family Fun night. An adult must stay with the child throughout the entire program.

Join us for knitting class on Tuesday, February 28th from 6 to 8 pm. Barbra Wixom will instruct you how to knit a scarf by showing how to cast on, knit, and pearl. There is no cost for the class, but we ask that you bring your own needles and yarn. Call the library or stop at the adult circulation desk to sign up for the class.

The monthly challenge for January was to match actors to their movies. The winners of the DVD prize were Amanda and Autumn Black. The challenge for February is to match together celebrity couples. There are challenges for adults and children. Enter to win Valentine Goodies.

The after school program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4 pm. Children in kindergarten and first grade meet on Tuesdays while grades 2 through 5 meet on Thursdays. For children who are not in kindergarten and age 2 to 5 years old, there is story time from 6:30 to 7 pm. Adults are asked to stay with children under the age of 4.

Be sure to mark your calendars for March 13. Stacy Wyse will be joining us for a discussion on essential oils. More information to come with the March newsletter.

The story trail will be continuing into February at Harrison Lake. The story Hello, Snow by Hope Vestergard will be featured for the month of February. The trail starts at the camp office and proceeds into the woods to enjoy the scenic walk.

The Book Club will meet Thursday, February 23 at 7 pm. The book to be discussed is Glory Over Everything by Kathleen Grissom. The synopsis is, “Jamie Pyke, son of the master of Tall Oaks plantation and also his kitchen slave, is passing as a wealthy white aristocrat in Philadelphia. His secret identity and even his life are threatened when he travels back to the South, where he is still being hunted as an escaped slave, to rescue a beloved young boy named Pan who has been kidnapped and sold into slavery. Pan is unprepared for the brutal life of the slave quarters until he finds an ally in the compassionate nurse, Sukey, and she hatches a plan to help him escape through the Underground Railroad. Jamie manages to locate Pan and Sukey just as the ruthless slave hunters are closing in on him. Together, the three make a run for freedom, but there is a grave price to pay.” If you are interested in joining, stop by the library and pick up your copy.

We would like to thank Jana Ballmer for donating a book, Jan Willis for giving a DVD, and Jean Pfund for a contribution of several books.

Thank you also to Jane Stiritz for displaying her lovely bell collection in our January Showcase. We also thank Alissa Roesti for displaying her beautiful Penguin Collection in our February Showcase.

If road conditions prevent our staff from getting to work or back home safely or Fulton County is under a level 3 snow emergency, we may have to close the library. To get the most recent updates, tune into WMTR 96.1 or channel 13 and channel 11 news broadcasts.
