Wauseon & Bryan Advance Swimmer, Divers To District

At the Division II sectionals at Ayersville the Wauseon boys swam to a first place finish while the girls finished in the runner up spot. To go with their 426.50 points the boys team is sending the following swimmers to district competition: Branden Arredondo (50 yd freestyle, 100 yd. freestyle, 200 yd freestyle relay, 400 yd freestyle relay), Ryan Scherer (100 freestyle, 200 yd IM, 200 yd freestyle relay, 400 yd freestyle relay), Nicholas Dilworth (200 yd freestyle, 500 yd freestyle, 200 yd freestyle relay, 400 yd freestyle relay), Austin Schuette (200 yd. freestyle, 500 yd. freestyle, 200 yd freestyle relay, 400 yd freestyle relay), Lukas Dominque (200 yd freestyle, 500 yd freestyle), Kyle Vernot (500 yd freestyle), Lucas Blanchong (100 yd. breaststroke, 200 yd medley relay), Kyle Zirkle (100 yd. breaststroke), Michael Cheezan (100 yd breaststroke), Mac Warcke (100 butterfly, 200 yd. IM, 200 yd medley relay), James Hutchinson (200 yd medley relay), Seth Hutchison (200 yd medley relay).

In the girls meet, the Indians had the following district qualifiers: McKenzie Darnell (100 yd freestyle, 200 yd. freestyle, 200 yd. freestyle relay, 400 yd. freestyle relay) Brooke Schuette (200 yd freestyle, 500 yd. freestyle, 200 yd. freestyle relay, 400 yd. freestyle relay), Kate Precht (200 yd. freestyle, 500 yd. freestyle) Sydney Darnell (100 yd. butterfly, 200 yd IM, 200 yd. freestyle relay, 400 yd. freestyle relay), Alexys Carteaux (100 yd. freestyle, 200 yd. IM, 200 yd. freestyle relay, 400 yd. freestyle relay.)

Meanwhile at the Division II Sectional meet at Napoleon, the Bryan Golden Bears advanced the following boy swimmer to the district meet.

Jonathan Roberts (100 yd backstroke, 100yd butterfly), Justin Doty (100 yd butterfly), 200 freestyle relay, 200 yd medley relay. The girls qualifying for Bryan include: Ashleigh Franks (50 yd freestyle, 100 yd freestyle), Meggie Voigt (50 yd freestyle, 100 yd freestyle), Madison Reiser, (50 yd. freestyle, 100 yd. freestyle), Izzy Rigg (200 yd freestyle, 100 yd. backstroke), Hannah Goodrich (200 yd freestyle, 500 yd. freestyle), Hannah Wynne (100 butterfly, 200 yd, IM), Audrey Zimmerman (200 yd. IM), 200 yd. freestyle relay, 400 yd freestyle relay, 200 medley relay. (names of relay participants not available).


In the Division II Diving Sectional Wauseon’s Tony Schweinhagen scored 402.30 to move onto the district competition establish yet another new school record. Wauseon’s girls team will be represented in the Diving competition by: Patience Bachman, Kennedy Nation, Megan Carroll and Audry Lane.

Bryan will be represented on the District diving board by Tay Peters and Maggie Rettig. Bryan’s Ryan Wittier will compete in the boy’s competition.
