Game Summaries: Varsity Softball – Thur., April 13th, 2017

Hilltop 6, Edon 4
The Lady Bombers mounted a comeback scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh but came up short in the BBC clash. Colleen Bell led the Lady Cadets offensively as she connected for three hits driving in two runs. Aubrey Wyse added an RBI producing double. Wyse pitched the complete game allowing four runs on five hits while striking out three. Eliza Zulch, Shaylee Mason, Sara Hiller, Hannah Kaylor and Alea Brandt accounted for Edon’s hits. Zulch drove in two runs while Mason and Kaylor had one RBI apiece. Mason had another solid outing in the circle as she pitched the complete game giving up six runs on six hits fanning 10.

Pettisville 8, North Central 7
The Lady Blackbirds (2-2, 1-2) used three runs in the top of the sixth and added to more in the seventh to escape with the BBC win. Kyra Behnfeldt helped her own cause with the bat as she hit two singles and a double in the win. Sydney Purtee contributed as well to the Pettisville win with a single and a double and Kenzie Morgan added three singles. Behnfeldt pitched the complete game allowing seven runs on nine hits with five strikeouts. Alyssa Swank connected for two singles and a double for North Central while Makayla Knapp and Madyson Bonney hit one double apiece. Addie Elser took the loss for the Lady Eagles pitching three innings and allowing five runs on six hits while striking out three.

Montpelier 17, Stryker 5
The Lady Locos scored nine runs over the first two innings, the exploded for eight four-inning runs to dominate play in their BBC win. Kaylee Peffley smashed a grand slam in the game to lead the offense with four RBI. Alexis Nemire added three RBI on two hits including a triple. Caitlin Nixon drove in a pair of runs while Erin Prekop, Trinity Nichols, Sarah Higbie and Landro McKelvey added one RBI apiece. Cadwell had two RBI for Stryker while Stuckey added one. Higbie was the winner in the circle pitching the five-inning contest and allowing five runs on five hits while striking out three. Shindledecker allowed 17 runs on seven hits and struck out three for the Lady Panthers.

Bryan 6, Delta 3
The Lady Golden Bears broke out to a 4-0 lead after four innings, then added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the win. Trista Savage was the winning pitcher while Hayley Callahan took the loss for Delta. Grace Voigt led Bryan at the plate finishing one for three but delivering two RBI. Maddie Nadolny was one for three for Delta with the one hit being a home run that scored the three Lady Panther runs.

Archbold 7, Patrick Henry 1
Alyssa Ziegler gave up one run on three hits and struck out 10 in the Lady Bluestreaks convincing NWOAL victory. Ziegler improver her record to 4-4. Madison Roth and Kaitlyn Beck led the Archbold hitters with two RBI apiece. Roth finished three for three and Beck was one for four.
