FAYETTE – Leah Thompson gave up a run to the Fayette Lady Eagles in the home half of the first, then slammed the door. Her team responded with a six-run second and a total of seven unanswered runs in a 7-1 win on a rain-soaked April 23.

Thompson allowed a run on 4 hits and a walk, striking out 10. She got plenty of help from her offense in the second, the big blow coming off the bat of Sidney Schmitt who finished the day with a 3-RBI double. Hannah Bleikamp had an RBI double and Brittney Mocherman drove in a run with a pair of singles. Tiffany Weaver had a pair of base hits, and Taylor Batt and Brooke Chapin each singled.
The five Fayette fielding errors made for a tough outing for Tiffany Bates. She was tagged for 7 runs, only one earned on 8 hits.
