Verna D. Falor, age 83, of Delta, surrounded by her family; passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee.
She was born in Delta on August 2, 1934 to the late Ray Fitzsimmons and Bessie (Bundy) Fitzsimmons. Verna was a graduate of Swanton High School. On November 2, 1952 she married James E. Falor and together shared 59 loving years together until his passing on December 3, 2010.
Verna’s employment history included working as a clerk at Kay’s Five and Dime in Delta and later with Morr’s Hardware Store also in Delta. She was recently honored as a 50 year member of the Delta American Legion Auxiliary and was an active member of the Delta United Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping, fishing and baking, but most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Verna is survived by her children, Teresa (Steve) Shelt, Deb (Mike) Fortney, Diane (Martin) Burks, Bonnie Falor; brother, Ron (Chris) Fitzsimmons; sisters-in-law, Kay Falor and Sue (Ken) Biddle; ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Along with her husband, James, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elvin and Virgil Fitzsimmons; sisters, Betty Tansel, JoAnne Farley and Lounetta Gilbert and great grandson, Hunter James Cascio.
