Marceil Bruot, 91 years, of Bryan, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Genesis Healthcare-Bryan Center, Bryan, Ohio, where she was a resident.
Marceil was born on November 16, 1926 in Defiance County, Ohio the daughter of the late Clyde Delphos and Martha Almeda (Pendleton) Riter.
Marceil was a 1944 graduate of Bryan High School. She married Max Bruot on March 24, 1948 in Bryan, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2009.
Marceil was a devoted and loving homemaker, caring for her family. She was a member of First Brethren Church in Bryan. Marceil enjoyed cooking, fishing and going out to eat breakfast with her friends, when she was able. She adored her family, often babysitting for her grandchildren. She also had a very close relationship with her twin sister Lucille’s family after Lucille passed away.
Surviving are her two sons, Dr. Brent (Barbara) Bruot of Brutus, Michigan and Rodney (Rhonda) Bruot of Bryan; four grandchildren, Nathan (Elona) Bruot, Christopher Bruot, Matthew (Rachel) Bruot and Amanda Bruot; two great-grandchildren, Rosalie Bruot and Ruth Bruot. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max; five brothers, Leslie, Calvin, Durward, Wayne and Lyle Riter and her twin sister, Lucille Throne.
Funeral services for Marceil Bruot will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at First Brethren Church 13050 County Road C, Bryan with Pastor Brent Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Bryan. Visitation for Mrs. Bruot will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.
