Ruby P. Morrison, 89 years, of Bryan, and a former life-long resident of Sherwood, Ohio, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Hillside Country Living, Bryan where she was a resident.
Ruby was born August 2, 1928 in Albany, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walter and Desie (Thomas) DeRossett. She married Frederick M. “Fred” Morrison on August 8, 1948 in Albany, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2014.
Ruby was devoted and loving wife and mother, caring for her family and all their needs. She also had worked at the Vagabond Restaurant as a waitress. She was a member of the Sherwood United Methodist Church. Ruby enjoyed going to her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, baking, making crafts and caring for her family.
Surviving are her four sons, John (Kathy) Morrison of Fremont, Ohio, Larry (Diana) Morrison of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Doug (Connie) Morrison of Montpelier and Tim (Sandy) Morrison of Merrill, Michigan; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. one brother, Sam (Ann) DeRossett of Sherwood and one sisters, Jean Anderson of Sherwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Fred and one sister, Louise Thompson.
Visitation for Ruby P. Morrison will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 with Pastor Kevin Doseck officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
