DELTA (June 10, 2025) – At one point, Delta and Bryan were even in the hit column with six each. Problem for Delta was that walks, hit batters and wild pitches led to a 9-2 Bryan lead, and the Golden Bears used a big seven-run sixth to put away the Panthers 16-2 in ACME play at Delta.

One of those HBPs came in the first with two out when Panther starter Jacob Walter plunked Carter Luce, and after a single from Cam Bukowski, Easton Kerr’s base hit to right-center gave Bryan a 1-0 lead.

Delta got that run back when Emric Friess singled, went to second on a walk, moved to third on a passed ball and scored when Nathan Elton bounced out.

From that point, Bryan piled on runs by twos the next four innings. A walk, singles from Cole Carlin and starting pitcher Jaymison Longoria, and a pair of fielders’ choice plays made it 3-1 after two.

Andrew Slagle’s run-producing single and a Bryce Welling sacrifice fly got two in the third. The Bears got a deuce in the fourth without a hit, on a walk and two Delta errors to make it 7-1, then matched that in the fifth, again without a hit, as reliever Gary Valentine hit a batter and walked two more.

Bryan exploded in the sixth against a pair of Delta pitchers for the seven-run knockout.

Longoria started the inning with a base hit up the middle. Jacob Uran tripled to deep center and John Dalrymple doubled up the gap to bring home the first two runs of the frame.

Tucker Miller and Brennan Mosier each singled, then a combination of four more walks and hit batters capped the rally.

Delta got a run off of Kerr, who relieved Longoria in the fifth, on Lane Lopez’s RBI infield single.

Longoria got the win, going the first four innings. He gave up one earned run, just three hits and walked two while striking out four Panthers.

Walter took the loss, giving up five runs, all earned, and six hits in his three innings of work. Walter hit two and walked one with zero strikeouts.
