As students have had to spend time at home for 10 to 14 days at a time, Stryker teachers and administrators have been holding Hybrid School with some of their students in the classroom with them and some on a Zoom meeting from their homes.
Sometimes, even the teacher has been on Zoom due to being quarantined, with a substitute holding down the fort physically in the classroom. Whatever the situation has called for has been done well, and with no complaining, Principal Dave Schultz reported to the board.
He and Beth Morr, the school Dean of Students both voiced how pleased they are with how well this year is going despite the constant need for adjustments every day.
They thanked all of the teachers, students and parents for doing so well under such strange conditions. In her report, Morr also informed the board that the Parent Teacher Conferences which were held via phone conferences also went well. She announced an early release on December 17 at 1:05 as it is the end of Semester 1. The staff completed RTI Training on November 13. The Third Grade Reading Test results are back with 54% passing and 39% proficient, which she said is similar to in the past.
