Angela “Angie” Cryer (1940-2020)

Angela “Angie” H. Cryer, 79, of Montpelier passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on October 20, 1940 in Adrian, Michigan to Paul J. and Velma L. (Martin) Anders.

Angie graduated from Montpelier High School in 1958.  On December 13, 1958 she married Allen E. Cryer in Montpelier and he survives.

Angie was a charter member of the Solid Rock Church in West Unity. She was a homemaker and a Bridgewater Township farmers wife, and kept the accounting books for Cryer Farms. Angie loved singing and reading. Angie enjoyed travelling, had been to all 50 states.

In 2005 she and Allen drove to Alaska and in 2009 they went to Spain and France. She was a very compassionate person.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Allen; daughters Lynne (Dave) Buehrer of West Unity and Lisa (Dean) Gericke of Brighton, Michigan; four grandchildren, Joshua (Melissa) Schaedler, Jason (Brittany) Schaedler, Mara Gericke and Kyle Gerick; six great grandchildren, Anastasia, Brock, Aaron, Chase, Chloe and Emma; and sister Lois (Rick) Baughman of Montpelier. Angie was preceded in death by her parents.


Visitation for Angie will be on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 10am-2pm at Solid Rock Church in West Unity. Services will follow at 2p at the church with Pastor Randy Evers to officiate. She will be laid to rest at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorial contributions may be given to CHP Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association. Those wishing to attend are asked to observe appropriate social distancing and masks are encouraged, but not required.
