The female Athlete of the Week is Bryan softball player Thea Staten. Last week the N.C. State signee allowed zero runs, three hits and recorded 49 strikeouts in 19 innings of work to help the Golden Bears go 3-0 for the week. Staten surpassed 1,000 career strikeouts on Tuesday after a 16 strikeout performance against Liberty-Benton.
