COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors held its August meeting Thursday morning at the OHSAA office. The following are highlights from the meeting. The department is in the process of adding two Utility AWD Interceptors and would the board approve two new vehicles to replace the current K-9 vehicles. Director Amy Metz-Simon reported to the Board of County Commissioners there were 32,479 incoming and outgoing calls for the second quarter, a lot higher than the first quarter (19,000). Living in a small population area can prove taxing when your event shares the same date and time slot as other, bigger, and more established events. Such was speculated to be the case on August 6 as Cancer Assistance of Williams County (CAWC) staged their annual Bike to the Bridge event. Lyn B. Houk, 78, of Montpelier passed away Saturday at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 15, 1937 in Superior Township to Henry Albert and Hildreth Lenore (Drake) Houk. Lyn graduated from Montpelier High School in 1955. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during peacetime. Lyn married Rosalyn O. Mercer and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2006. The Fulton 4-H Connection 4-H Club has had an interesting last couple months. They had a camping trip attended by 11 of 13 members, 3 advisors, and 18 family members.
