The Stryker Rotary Club presented each of the students in the 3rd grade class in Stryker elementary School with dictionaries on September 10th. During National Suicide Prevention Week, Four County Career Center’s Early Childhood Education class raised money for the Four County Adamhs Board Suicide Coalition and the Mikayla Smith Memorial Scholarship. Spearheaded by (LEFT TO RIGHT) Danielle Whitmire (Delta) and Brynne Riegsecker (Fayette), their goal was to not only raise money but to spread awareness about suicide prevention. Lloyd “Bub” Dale Baun, Jr., age 61, of Delta, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, September 14, 2015 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. He was born in Wauseon on July 25, 1954 to Lloyd Dale Baun, Sr., who survives and the late Eleanor (Gruber) Baun. Lloyd worked as a machinist for Bunting Bearings of Delta for over forty years. Bub was a member of the Delta Eagles Order #2597. He was an avid guitarist, performing in various bands and playing practical jokes on friends and family. Gertrude Downing, age 90, of Wauseon passed away early Tuesday September 15, 2015 at the Fulton County Health Center. Prior to her retirement she had worked for Perfection Finishers in Wauseon for 53 years. Mrs. Downing was born on June 24, 1925 in Memphis, TN the daughter of the late George and the late Louella (Zilkey) Rathbun. She married Donzell Downing and he preceded her in death. Steve Kaposy, age 88, formerly a longtime resident of Swanton, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 16, 2015 at Whitehouse Country Manor. He was born in the country of Hungry on February 21, 1927 before coming to the United States with his parents, Anthony Kaposy Sr. and Elizabeth (Toth) Kaposy and settling in Avella, Pennsylvania. A safety assembly for over 500 new Four County Career Center students was recently held at the school. The assembly was held to promote safety in the Career Center for all students, personnel, and visitors. Ohio State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Jerrod A. Savidge and Henry County Sheriff Michael Bodenbender both stressed the importance of safe driving habits. John Joseph Kurivial, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday afternoon, September 9, 2015.  He was born March 12, 1927 in Napoleon, Ohio to John and Anna (Jurasek) Kurivial.  After graduation, John was drafted in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.  On November 12, 1955, he married his beloved wife, Doris Ann Vavrik.
