WAUSEON: February 3, 2014 – If the Ayersville Lady Pilots compared their record to that of the Wauseon Lady Indians prior to their February 3 matchup, they came away with an important lesson…the games are played on the hardwood, NOT on paper. 13-3 Ayersville found themselves in a pitched battle with the 9-8 Tribe, and had it not been for the clock proving to be the ultimate rally-killer, the Lady Pilots might not have escaped with their 45-44 win over the Lady Indians.

The hometown girls fell behind by a point at the intermission, but Ayersville could not put them away. Trailing by four going into the fourth, a Wauseon rally made up for three of the four points before the clock rolled around to zero.

The 9-9 Tribe was led by Natalie Koenig with 13 points, and Sariah Yackee with a dozen. Maddie Richer put in 11 points, Hannah Blaylock had 4, and Kylie Archibeque and Lexi Lane each had a deuce.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Ayersville 11 15 9 10 – 45

Wauseon 11 14 6 13 – 44
