Barbara Daft (1933-2020)

Barbara E Daft, 86, of Montpelier passed away Tuesday evening at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on November 27, 1933 in Auburn, Indiana to Carrol and Lenna (Zolman) Kreischer.

Barb graduated from Montpelier High School in 1951. On June 7, 1951 she married Jack Daft in Montpelier and he survives.

Barb was a homemaker and helped Jack for many years on their farm. She was a member of the Montpelier Moose and the Montpelier Eagles for many years. Barb cooked for many funeral meals over the years. In the 1970’s and early 1980’s they hosted Barn Dances in their barn.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jack; daughter Debra (Rick) Barry of Montpelier; son Jack (Renee) Daft of Montpelier; grandchildren, Mark Coblentz, Joe Richmond, Britt Barry, Aaron Grubb, Josh Daft, Joel Daft, and Jamie Richmond plus many great-grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sharon Richmond, infant daughter Connie Daft, son Dennis Daft, sister Mary Baker and brothers Lefty Kreischer, Bob Kreischer and John Kreischer.

Barb will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions may be given to CHP-Hospice Williams County or Edgerton Visiting Angels .
