WAUSEON – Pettisville’s Jack Leppelmeier was medalist with a 77 to lead the Blackbirds (339) to the top spot in the BBC league tournament at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon.
Montpelier (357) was second after going 7-0 in the regular season to give the Locos a share of the BBC crown with Pettisville.
Pettisville had four golfers in the top ten individually as Creighton Aeschliman (86), Blayn Meck (87), and Aiden Crawford (89) joined Leppelmeier in the top ten.
BBC Player of the Year Jaxon Richmond posted an 80 to front Montpelier and finish second while teammate Drake Sommer was third with an 83.
Third place North Central (378) put two players in the top ten as freshman Kenneth Smeltzer fired an 84 to finish fourth and Ben Pettit was seventh with an 88.
Fayette’s Wyatt Mitchell shot a 90 for the Eagles, good for ninth overall.
Richmond and Leppelmeier were named 1st team All-BBC, joined on the team by Sommer, Smeltzer, Mitchell, and Pettit
Earning 2nd team distinction was Aeschliman (P’ville), Meck (P’ville), Trent Thorp (M’pelier), Daniel Donovan (Stryker), Sam Myers (P’ville), and Caden Bishop (P’ville).
Honorable mention went to Easten Richmond (M’pelier), Jordan Schaffner (Hilltop), William Donovan (Stryker), Austin Gault (Hilltop), Lakota Siegel (Hilltop), and Nathan Miller (Holgate).
All-league teams are based on results from the regular season and the tournament.
The BBC teams will be back at Ironwood on Thursday, September 29 for the Division III sectionals.
