FAYETTE (April 30, 2025) – The Pettisville Blackbirds wasted no time in making their presence known in Fayette on Wednesday, coming in with a sensational offensive performance that eventually led them to a 22-1 win over Fayette.
Pettisville controlled the game from the very beginning with their fast start and consistent execution at the plate and was able to stay in the lead by maintaining their sharp defensive play throughout the game.
Pettisville started out strong, scoring seven runs in the top of the first. They continued their remarkable performance with two more in the second and one in the third before scoring a grand total of ten runs in the fourth. They finished off their scoring with two final runs in the fifth.
Olivia Miller and Naomi Richer both had exceptional games at the plate. Miller finished with two hits—including a home run and a double—along with four RBIs.
Richer added a home run of her own, driving in four and crossing the plate four times. Bailey Booth contributed three hits and three RBIS, while Jalyssa Molina and Abbi Opdycke combined their skills for five more RBIs between the two of them.
On the mound, Macy Hoylman added to the Blackbirds’ win with three efficient innings, allowing no runs and striking out three. Natalie Moden took over in relief, striking out three once again and allowing only one run on one hit.
Despite the final score, the Eagles showed resilience and put in a great effort throughout the game and still found moments to build on.
Catcher Willow Mitchell, third baseman Kayla Sliwinski, and center fielder Bailey Jennings each recorded hits, with Monroe Simon driving in the team’s lone run in the fourth inning.
Their defense showed grit and determination, and with the season still being young, there is promising potential as the team continues to grow and gain experience together.
