Fayette, Ohio – On Saturday, April 23rd at 7:30 p.m., the Bean Creek Valley History Center and Fayette Opera House will present its Spring “DOWN HOME At The Opera House” at Fayette’s historic Opera House.

This Country, Bluegrass and Gospel Stage Show finds its roots in the old Holland Homestead Shows that took place on Lickley Road and just north and west of Waldron, Michigan.

For years, people and performers from throughout the region made their way to this remote Michigan location to enjoy some of the finest local, regional and national musicians perform on stage at the Homestead. Many performers “cut their teeth” in front of knowledgeable and discriminating audiences in an atmosphere that can best be described as authentic.

Curator the Bean Creek Valley History Center is the official tie to the Holland Homestead. Colleen grew up on stage with her parents Arvin and Doris Holland, who were the hosts of the event. From popping corn, handing out programs and performing on stage, Colleen did it all!
To say that the concerts were enjoyed by thousands would be an understatement.

While some performers picked and sang just for the fun of it, several played their way to stages from Nashville to Las Vegas and places far beyond.

This year’s spring Down Home Concert, MC’d by Fayette native Steve Snider features the popular bluegrass group “Hand Hewn”, Gospel Pianist Jimmy Stewart, Riley Martin, and GoKart John & Colleen.

The concert will be held in the Ginnivan Auditorium at the Fayette Opera House, which is located in downtown Fayette, Ohio. The concert hall has wonderful acoustics and is a perfect venue for this impressive showcase of local talent.

Tickets for the event are $10.00 and are available at the door.

The April 23rd Concert will be followed by refreshments for performers and patrons alike.
