Beverly Kirsch (1934 – 2024)

Beverly L. Kirsch, age 90, of Wauseon, passed away Friday evening, November 1, 2024, in her home in Evansport.

Beverly had worked several jobs, including owning Buzzy Fabric Nook in Morenci, worked for Brock’s Photography in Adrian, worked for Optometrist Dr. Cable in Morenci and then retired from the Coleman Foundation in Hudson after many years.

Beverly was born in Adrian, MI on February 4, 1934, the daughter of Cuyler and Marie (Willitts) VanValkenburg. On October 31, 1953 she married Gilbert M. Kirsch, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2016.


She was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Church where she also served with the St. Caspar Spiritual Supporters and the St. Caspar Craft Group. She loved quilting, knitting and crocheting, but she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters; Elise Marie Kretz of Evansport and Marie Annette (John) Kessler of Wauseon; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Gilbert Kirsch; and sister, Barbara Feltman.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in the Pope John XXIII Room at St. Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. in the Narthex of St. Caspar Catholic Church, with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the St. Caspar Cemetery.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Wauseon Fire Department or CHP – Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
