BRYAN (December 14, 2023) – Bryan shot 54% from the field and Carter Dominique and Sam Herold each had 18 points to help Bryan bounce back from back-to-back losses for a 47-39 win over the Panthers.

After Sam Herold opened the scoring for Bryan with a bucket, Jacob Cadwell would hit a top of the key triple followed by a foul line jumper to put Stryker in front 5-2.

A runner in the lane by Owen Rupp and then a corner three ball by Gavin LaBo increased the Stryker lead to 10-6.

Scores from the low block and a baseline jumper by Dominique gave him six points in the frame and squared things at 10 going to the second.

Devin Montague hit a jump hook in the lane to give Stryker a 12-10 lead early in the second, but Bryan answered with a 7-0 run as Herold would hit a corner three and then was 2/2 at the line after a Maddox Langenderfer layup to make it 17-12.

Stryker’s Daniel Donovan ended the run with a conventional three-point play before Bryan would get the last four points of the half on an offensive rebound bucket by Karter Brown and a Dominique jumper from the foul line gave Bryan a 21-15 lead at halftime.

Both teams had a slow start offensively in the second half but layups from Dominique and Herold and a triple from the corner by Brown at the end of the quarter would give the Bears a 28-20 lead.

The scoring picked up in the fourth with Daniel Donovan scoring a quick five points on two free throws and a three-pointer but Herold responded with his own three-pointer to make it 31-25 Bryan.

After another basket by Herold, Jacob Myers would hit from deep to keep Stryker (2-3) close at 35-28 with 3:33 remaining.

Dominique would put Bryan in control at that point with two straight field goals to push the Bryan (3-2) lead to double digits at 39-28 with 2:36 left in the contest.

Dominique finished with 10 of his 18 points in the final frame while Daniel Donovan tallied 12 of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter for the Panthers.
