Bradford “Brad” Peter (1953 – 2025)

Bradford Max “Brad” Peter, 71 years of Hicksville, died suddenly, Thursday, January 30, 2025, in his residence with his wife at his side.

Brad was born December 2, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Max D. and Barbara J. (Koch) Peter. He was a 1971 graduate of Fairview High School. Brad married Valerie Pocratsky on June 11, 1994, in Hicksville, Ohio, and she survives.

Brad was a machinist working for Dietrich’s, Nemco, Allied Moulded and Oren Elliott in Edgerton, retiring in 2014. Brad was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Hicksville.

Brad enjoyed arrowhead hunting, treasure hunting, woodworking, putting together model cars and calligraphy.

Surviving is his wife, Val of Hicksville; three children, Jeremy (Bridget) Peter of Florence, Kentucky and Natalie (Matt) Captain of Hicksville and Andrew Peter of Bryan, Ohio; four grandchildren, Danny Captain of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Emily (Tucker) Eberheart of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ben Peter and Max Peter, both of Florence, Kentucky; one great-grandson, Grayson Eberheart; two brothers, Chad (Tammy) Peter of Defiance and Jeff (Deb) Peter of Hicksville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends for Brad Peter will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Memorial Services for Brad will follow beginning immediately at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Patricia Peter, Celebrant officiating. Private interment will take place.

Memorial contributions can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Condolences may be sent to the family, or memories may be shared at www.oberlinturnbull.com.
