The Brady Township Trustees met in a regular session on Monday, July 13, with trustees Willis Grime, Jim Eisel, and Tim Nofziger present. Also, Fiscal Officer Chrystal Maneval and Road Supervisor Dustin Bailey were present.

Eisel made the motion to approve payment of the bills and the minutes of the June 22, 2026, meeting, with Nofziger seconding it. Both were approved.

Trustees passed a resolution to place a 0.5-mill renewal fire levy on the November 3, 2026, general election ballot in which it was already up for renewal.

The renewal fire levy, which has been in place since 1981, is not a new tax, but is a five-year renewal which is estimated to bring in $12,896 per year if approved.

Fiscal Officer Chrystal Maneval read a letter from the Ohio Department of Public Safety acknowledging the recent resolution from the township imposing an additional $5 motor vehicle license fee payment for township residents.

The fee, which goes into effect January 1, 2027, authorized Maneval to certify the resolution to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles.

It will also provide needed additional revenue to meet expenses of projects as outlined in the Ohio Revised Code.

Maneval also presented a copy of the certificate of estimated property tax revenue from the county auditor. She also requested help from the trustees regarding a cemetery grant for Floral Grove Cemetery.

Trustees approved a contract with Morton Salt to purchase 88 tons of salt for the 2026-2027 year to use in the winter months.

Nofziger provided an update on the chip and seal work in the township, noting that work has not yet begun on County Road M-50, County Road 22.30, and County Road 21.50. He will be contacting Ward Construction of Leipsic about the delay.

Trustees received an update regarding six campers on County Road M that are not hooked up to a septic system.

The Williams County Board of Health has yet to contact the township with a final decision on the matter, but it is highly anticipated that the campers will receive a six-week extension.

In other matters, Grime received a price quote of $10,050 to spray tar on several county roads.

The meeting then adjourned at 7:39 p.m. The next meeting will be on Monday, July 27, at 7 p.m.
