The Bryan Board of Public Affairs met on February 20, 2024 at 5 p.m. Before the minutes from the February 6, 2024 meeting were approved as presented, council agreed to add an executive session to the agenda.
Mr. Metz shared that there has been a meeting this week on a solution for the video presentation of the Bryan BPA and council meetings.
The cameras and computers would be set up with free software that would convert it to an MP4 file.
Mr. Lehner’s clerk / treasurer report was accepted as presented, as were the BPA committee meetings, and Mayor Schlade was approved as delegate with Mr. Long as alternate to the OMEA for 2024.
The electric department then gave their annual report, sharing this year’s 177-megawatt use, less than expected and budgeted for.
Projects were detailed, including generator installation, pipe boring, lighting projects, pole replacements, and transformer work.
All the employees in the department were thanked for their contributions, and an appreciation slide was shown to council members so that they could properly thank those responsible for the overall health of the department.
Details on truck orders, transformer inventory, and supply chain were discussed before the power plant shared details pertaining to the generation of electricity before the meeting entered into executive session, with the Bryan Board of Public affairs set to meet next March 5, 2024.
