EUROPEAN TRAVEL … The guest speaker at the Kiwanis of Bryan meeting on March 11, 2026, was Mike Jacobs, the Career Services Coordinator at Northwest State Community College. Mr. Jacobs shared with the group his experience of planning and executing a European vacation for his family that covered the countries of Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. It was a story of how they navigated these countries with a combination of planes, trains and automobiles. Among the tips he offered to those who may contemplate taking on a similar adventure — outside of knowing what it is that you want to see — were obtaining a publication entitled “Get Your Guide for Excursions” and making use of several Google apps such as “Translate,” “Maps” and “Lens” to maximize your time. His family covered approximately 1,615 miles by automobile, encompassing a 350-mile radius. It was an interesting and informative talk.
