Carl J. Brenner

carl-j-brennerCarl J. Brenner, 60, passed away Tuesday, September 6th at his home. He was born on September 13, 1955 in Ottoville, Ohio to Carl E. and Marge D. (Miller) Brenner. Carl graduated from Montpelier High School in 1973, then went to the Toledo University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. On August 5, 1977 he married Deborah A. Ryan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier and she survives.

Carl was a member and faithful attendee of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In 1978 Carl and Deb started the Montpelier Discount Drug Store and ran that until 2006, when they sold it to Pamida, he then worked for Pamida as a pharmacist until he retired in 2012. For 18 years Carl was on the Board of Directors for the National Bank of Montpelier and was a former member of the Montpelier Rotary. Carl enjoyed boating and being at the lake, exercising, golfing, being with friends and family, bicycling in Florida, and going to the beach. He was a very devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Deborah; two sons, Eric J. Brenner of Columbus, Ohio and Nicholas E. Brenner of Bryan; one daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Ambrose of Cincinnati, Ohio; mother Marge D. Brenner of Montpelier; two grandchildren Everett and Juliana Ambrose; two sisters, Carol (Tom) Houk and Becki (Greg) Snyder of Montpelier; and one brother Roger (Teresa) Brenner of Wauseon.

Carl was preceded in death by his father Carl.

A private Mass will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Cancer Assistance of Williams County or the American Cancer Society. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
