(Celebrating A Century Of Love And Family)

Catherine Marie “Kate” Leitner passed away peacefully on Feb. 19, 2026, at the age of 103.

She was born June 17, 1922, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Harvey and Mary (Lantz) Rupp. She was married to Robert Leitner, who preceded her in death in 1970.

After getting married in 1946, they moved to the neighboring town of Delta, Ohio, where they raised their six children.

Catherine enjoyed playing bingo, card games, polka dancing and traveling to see her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones.

Catherine is survived by her children, Yvonne St. Clair, Sharon (Jeff) Kracun, Lynn (Sue) Leitner, Anna Ford, Chuck (Kim) Leitner and Cathy (Brad) Woodland. Her legacy also lives on through her 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Evelyn Pontius and Chuck (Nancy) Rupp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Ann Rupp; loving husband, Robert J. “Bob” Leitner; infant son, Jeffery Leitner; grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda; two great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Dan St. Clair; and nine siblings: Glenford Rupp, Clela Nofziger, Ada Andrews, Maurice Rupp, Orville Rupp, Martha Huber, Dick Rupp and Ilva Robinson-Shaynak.

Special thanks to the team at Genacross Wolf Creek and Hospice 360 for their unwavering support, dedication, compassion and empathy to their residents, including our beloved Catherine.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice 360 in lieu of flowers in Catherine’s honor.

The family will gather with guests Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, 219 S. Fulton St., Wauseon, Ohio. Her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow and will be private.
