Hazel McQuillin, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at her home at Silver Treasures in St. Johns, Florida.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1934, to David and Mildred Ayers. She met and married Robert Franklin McQuillin on Sept. 14, 1955, and together they raised two beautiful daughters.
Hazel spent her working career as a bookkeeper with Penrod and George CPA, and later with Wauseon Woodworking. She also helped on the family farm when needed. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, and working on her needlepoint.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bill) O’Neill and Karen (Chris) Cornelius; grandchildren, Heather (Evan) Stewart and Kyle (Kristie) Cornelius; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Tucker, Laila, and Brock Cornelius, and Rhett and Elle Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Franklin McQuillin; her parents, David and Mildred Ayers; and brothers, Lowell and Carl Ayers.
Visitation for Hazel will take place on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold, Ohio, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold at 10:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Wauseon Union Cemetery. Pastor Michael Doerr of the First Christian Church of Wauseon will officiate.
