Catherine Partin (1942 – 2024)

Catherine Joyce Partin, age 82, of Wauseon, passed away on September 1, 2024, at the Fulton County Health Center. Catherine was born on July 2, 1942, in Kentucky, to the late Richard Thomas and Allie (Hamblin) Croley.

In 1960, Catherine married Dolphus “Doc” Partin, who preceded her in death in 2009. Catherine obtained an Associate’s Degree in Home Health Care, and worked in home healthcare.

She also obtained her CDL license and drove truck. For most of her life, Catherine cared for her home and her family as a homemaker. She loved to travel. She was an avid writer also.


She loved animals, especially horses. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her son, Gary (Peggy) Partin, of Liberty Center; son, Thomas Partin of Wauseon; grandchildren, Malissa, Adam, John, Katelyn, and Hannah; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Kovach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolphus; parents; son, Dolphus “Alan” Partin; grandchildren, Dolphus Alan Partin, Jr. and Leah Partin; great-grandchildren, Raven and Meredith; and brothers, Travis and Thomas Croley.


Visitation for Catherine will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home from 10am to 12pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12pm, with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery – Delta.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
