The Center Township Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday, February 17, at the township building. Trustees Matt Grube and Julie Davis were in attendance, with Ryan Muehlfeld absent.
Discussion concerning the sale of the former township building in Melbern highlighted the meeting.
Four sealed bids have been received for the property, according to local realtor T.J. Zimmerman of Carlin and Sons Realty. The building has already been cleaned, and the gas furnace is working properly following repairs.
A quote to replace two reflective glass panels in the township hall foyer was received from Clearview Tinting. The matter was tabled.
The trustees will have Denny Smith install a board in the Williams Center Community building. Discussion took place regarding the township’s storm sirens, which have been experiencing intermittent malfunctions.
It was suggested that Northwest Electric and the City of Bryan would help take down the malfunctioning sirens. Further discussion on the siren issue is expected at the next meeting.
Township zoning director Todd Burkholder also reported that a zoning permit was filed for a building in Melbern.
